Both A and B are similar but the difference is that muckrakers did not present facts to encourage more investigation, they presented facts to make a change. There are many examples but one major one is Upton Sinclair and his book "The Jungle". It exposed the meat industry and how corrupted it was. This led to many changes such as new food safety laws.
