Explanation:

Towards the end of the 1800s questions arose as to how the Jewish people could overcome increasing persecution and anti-Semitism in Europe. The biblical Promised Land led to a political movement, Zionism, to establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine, in the Middle East.

From 1920 to 1947, the British Empire had a mandate over Palestine. At that time, Palestine included all of Israel and today’s Occupied Territories, of Gaza, West Bank, etc. The increasing number of Jewish people immigrating to the Holy Land increased tensions in the region.

European geopolitics in the earlier half of the 20th century in the wider Middle East region contributed to a lot of instability overall. The British Empire, especially, played a major role in the region.

During World War I, in 1916, it convinced Arab leaders to revolt against the Ottoman Empire (which was allied with Germany). In return, the British government would support the establishment of an independent Arab state in the region, including Palestine.

Yet, in contradiction to this, and to also get support of Jewish people, in 1917, Lord Arthur Balfour, then British Foreign Minister, issued a declaration (the Balfour Declaration). This announced the British Empire’s support for the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine.

As a further complication, there was a deal between Imperial Britain and France to carve up the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire and divide control of the region. The spoils of war were to be shared. As with the 1885 Berlin Conference where Africa was carved up amongst the various European empires, parts of the Middle East were also to be carved up, which would require artificial borders, support of monarchies, dictators and other leaders that could be regarded as puppets or at least could be influenced by these external powers.

Did that help?

The countries best able to take advantage of these power sources of ________, expanded the most, and came to exert control over
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

Militay force trough Horse power and Wind power

Explanation:

According to Thomas Friedman (2005), we can view globalization as occurring in three diferent periods or stages.

 • First, globalization was driven by military expansion, powered by horsepower and wind power.

Countries best able to take advantage of these power sources expanded the most, and they took control over the politics of the globe from the end of fifteenth century to the year 1800.

 • Second, in a period from 1800 C.E. to 2000 C.E. (approximately) consisted of a globalizing economy.

During this period, the guiding forces of social change and globalization were the steam and rail power.

 • Third and final, Friedman take us to the post-millennial era.

In this globalization period, as you can imagine, change is driven by technology, specially the Internet.

Which pair of emerging markets have enjoyed economic growth based mainly on exploiting natural resources?
trapecia [35]

Brazil and Russia have pair of emerging markets that have enjoyed economic growth based mainly on exploiting natural resources.

An emerging market is a market that has some characteristics of an evolved marketplace, however, does no longer fully meet its standards. This includes markets that could turn out to be evolved markets within the future or have been in the beyond.

Economic growth may be described as the growth or development inside the inflation-adjusted market fee of the goods and offerings produced by means of an economic system over a sure period of time. Statisticians conventionally measure such a boom because the percent price of the boom is within the real gross home product or actual GDP.

The exploitation of natural resources is the usage of natural assets for monetary growth, from time to time with a bad connotation of accompanying environmental degradation.
