At higher elevations, the boiling point of water decreases, due to the decrease in atmospheric pressure. As a result, what could

be
said about hard boiling an egg?
a. At higher elevations, it would take less time to hard boil an egg, because there is less atmospheric
pressure.
b. At higher elevations, it would take longer to hard boil an egg, because there is a lower boiling point,
the egg is boiling in water at a lower temperature.
c. At higher elevations, it would take less time to hard boil an egg, because there is a lower boiling point
Therefore it would take less time to achieve the boiling point.
d. At higher elevations, it would take longer to hard boil an egg, because it would take longer to achieve
the boiling point

Answer:

The correct answer is option c. "At higher elevations, it would take less time to hard boil an egg, because there is a lower boiling point. Therefore it would take less time to achieve the boiling point".

Explanation:

The elevation has a inversely related effect on the boiling point of water. For instance, water boils at 100 °C at sea level, but it is reduced to 93.4 °C at 1,905 meters  of altitude. At higher elevations, it would take less time to hard boil an egg, because there is a lower boiling point. Therefore it would take less time to achieve the boiling point, and the water would boil faster than it does at sea level.

Is hypertonic active or passive transport
Len [333]

I'm a little confused by this question. Hypertonic just means that something has more of something than another thing. For example, if you place a cell in a solution, and 2% of the cell is made out of something while the solution is made out of 40% of the same thing, the solution would be hypertonic to the cell. Sorry if that explanation doesn't make sense, I tried my best lol.

Although I'd assume the answer is passive transport as anything that is hypertonic to something else will diffuse down its gradient in an attempt to reach a balance.
