Answer:

The correct answer is B) Large size relative to the host chromosomes

Explanation:

A vector for clonation or expression must contain sequence elements which allow it independent replication and identification of host cells which have incorporated the vector. Among these elements are:

- Replication origin (option E): allows it to replicate independently of the host genome. Option B is the same as it.

- Restriction enzyme sites (option A): in order to cut the vector and to inser the desired gene into the vector.

- Reporter gene (option E): it allows to visualize the host cells which are expresing the inserted gene of the vector. For example, a reporter gene can codificate a fluorescent protein, thus the host cells which have expresion of the vector are fluorescent.

The only option which is unuseful is option B because if the vector has too large size, the transformation efficiency will be low. That means that fewer host cells will contain the vector after transformation.

Does Kudzu help with soil erosion in the environment Explain why or why not
horrorfan [7]

Solution:

The correct answer is:

Yes, Kudzu helps prevent erosion.

Explanation:

Kudzu is a leafy vine that can prevent soil erosion. This is due to its wide leaves and strong root system that prevents soil erosion. In fact, Kudzu exhibits a symbiotic relationship with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, which may help explain their successful growth on heavily eroded sites. The kudzu cover prevents soil erosion because produces a high density of organic matter and this slows down the speed of rainwater. Also, Kudzu maintains soil moisture and prevents runoff even on steep slopes.

What type of organism would most likely be found in place of the question marks?
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

Decomposers

Explanation:

The diagram in this question illustrates a food web, which is a series of interlinked food chains in an ecosystem. In a food chain as depicted in the image, the arrows point to the organism that feeds on another organism. For example, an arrow is pointing from Idaho fescue to an Elk meaning that the elk will feed on that plant.

Different trophic levels constituting organisms exists in the food web including; producers (plants), primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary consumers etc. However, as observed in the image, a general arrow carrying along all the organism is pointing towards the organism in the question mark. This organism is called DECOMPOSER.

A decomposer, usually a microorganism, is an organism that breaks down dead organisms and returns the nutrient to the soil for recycling. All organisms in the food web will eventually die and when they do, they'll be decomposed by a decomposer. This is why the arrow pointing towards the decomposers include all organisms.

Please help me on both questions. i don’t know at all and i’m so confused
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

cant really answer much since you need the class results for these. but i can simplify question 1. so, does the class results prove that the traits made my dominant alleles are the most common? or in other words, are traits made  by dominant alleles most common in the class results?

number 4 is yes because there are more possibilities that the dominant trait will occur than the recessive trait. therefore, it is more common and the conception is correct
