Answer:

Punnet square can be described as a diagram which is used to check the probability of offsprings produced by crossing over of parents.

If a homozygous white plant is crossed with a heterozygous white plant, then none of the F1 offsprings will not have purple flowers. Considering white-flowered plant to be dominant for the trait.

If a heterozygous white plant is crossed with a heterozygous white plant, then about 25% of the F1 plants will have purple flowers. Considering white trait to be dominant.

An atom has at least one positive proton and at least one negative electron. Which of the following is true about the protons an
allsm [11]

Answer: Protons and electrons are far apart with lots of empty space in between.

Explanation:

Atom is defined fundamental part of a matter. Atom is composed of three sub particles protons, electrons and neutrons.

In an atom, electrons are located in orbits around the nucleus. Nucleus of an atom is located at center of the atomic sphere where protons and neutrons are present. Hence, it will be correct to say that "protons and electrons are far apart with lots of empty space in between".

Refer to the Biochemistry in Focus section of your text for this chapter to answer this question. Sarin inhibits acetylcholinest
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

c. Pyridostigmine binds to the acetylcholinesterase active site and prevents sarin from binding to and modifying the enzyme active site.

Explanation:

Sarin is a toxic compound which inhibits acetylcholinesterase enzyme. This enzyme degrades the neurotransmitter acetylcholine after the required muscle cell stimulation. In absence of its activity, acetylcholine is not degraded and the muscle cells are stimulated uncontrollably. The muscles are not able to relax which ultimately proves fatal for the victim.

Pyridostigmine is also an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor like Sarin. However its period of inhibition is short compared to organophosphorus inhibitors like sarin. It competes with sarin and replaces it in the active site of acetylcholinesterase. The enzyme is still inhibited but for a shorter time as compared to inhibition by Sarin. Hence after sometime, it becomes functional again and resumes its normal activity. Acetycholine starts getting degraded relaxing the muscles.

iris [78.8K]

Answer:

any of two or more forms of a chemical element, having the same number of protons in the nucleus, or the same atomic number, but having different numbers of neutrons in the nucleus, or different atomic weights. There are 275 isotopes of the 81 stable elements, in addition to over 800 radioactive isotopes, and every element has known isotopic forms. Isotopes of a single element possess almost identical properties.
