Minimum possible number of guests is zero.

C = 60 + 15(0) = $60

Maximum possible number of guests is 100.

C = 60 + 15(100) = $1,560

That looks like Choice (d).

What method would you use to solve the equation -14x^2 + 6x = 2.7? Why would this method be easier to use than the other methods
grin007 [14]
I really, really don't like this question. People have preferences in solving quadratics. I would personally use, and would encourage anyone to use the quadratic equation. That's because completing the square would get excessively fractional, graphically doesn't even work because the solutions are imaginary, and differentiating it wouldn't be necessary, as there are no irrational numbers (except i, which is just imaginary). So, in short, quadratic equation because you can't get anything graphically, the answers are ugly fractions, and you can actually use that method.

Which of the algebraic expressions are not linear expressions? Select all that apply. a. 3x - 2 b. -9y c. -7x^2^ + 4x d. -1/2x^2
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

c, d and e

Step-by-step explanation:

A linear expression is an expression in which sum of exponents of variables is at most 1 in each of its terms.

Option a: 3x - 2

Here, the exponent of the variable is 1.

So, it is a linear expression.

Option b: -9y

Here, the exponent of the variable is 1.

So, it is a linear expression.

Option c: -7x^2 + 4x

Here, the highest exponent of the variable is 2.

So, it is NOT a linear expression.

Option d: -\frac{1}{2} x^2

Here, the exponent of the variable is 2.

So, it is NOT a linear expression.

Option e: 8xy

Here, sum of exponents of variables is 2.

So, it is NOT a linear expression.

Hence, c, d and e are NOT algebraic expressions.

Tom deposited $2410 in a bank that pays 12% interest, compounded monthly. Find the amount he will have at the end of 3 years.
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

Base amount: $2,410.00

Interest Rate: 12% (yearly)

Effective Annual Rate: 12.68%

Calculation period: 3 years

$3,448.15

Step-by-step explanation:

The generic formula used in this compound interest calculator is

V = P(1+r/n)^(nt)

V = the future value of the investment

P = the principal investment amount

r = the annual interest rate

n = the number of times that interest is compounded per year

t = the number of years the money is invested for
