All you do is measure it with a ruler and for every 1 cm you get multiply it by 8.5ft.
so for example if you got 6cm then you would multiply it by 8.5ft and your answer would be 51ft.

What is the angular velocity of a 6–foot pendulum that takes 3 seconds to complete an arc of 14.13 feet? Use 3.14 for π.
RoseWind [281]
The angular velocity is defined by the position angle over time.
Get first the position angle of the pendulum which has the formula of s = rθ where s = arc length, r = radius (or length of the pendulum's string), and θ = position angle. Getting θ, we have θ = s/r = 14.13 ft / 6 ft = 2.355 rad
Thus, the angular velocity is θ/t where t = time; so 2.355 rad / 3 sec = 0.785 rad/sec
Hope this helps.

A man flies a kite at a height of 15 ft. The wind is carrying the kite horizontally from the man at a rate of 5 ft./s. How fast
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

4.4 ft/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Height = 15ft

Rate= 5 ft/s

Distance from the man to the kite= 32ft

dh/dt = 5 ft/s

h = √32^2 - 15^2

h = √ 1025 - 225

h = √800

h = 28.28ft

D = √15^2 + h^2

dD/dt = 1/2(15^2 + h^2)^-1/2 (2h) dh/dt

= h(225 + h^2)^-1/2 dh/dt

= (h / √225 + h^2)5

= (28.28 / √225 + 28.28^2)5

= (28.28 / √1024.7584)5

= (28.28/32)5

= 0.88*5

= 4.4 ft/s
