How does one solve this question, any help would be appreciated! I feel this has a really easy solution and I've decided to sign

ificantly over-complicate it.
13. a) Write down the equation of the line with gradient 3 passing through (0, -2)

b) Write down the equation of the line which is parallel to the line y=4-5x passing through (0,-1)

Hello,

a)
the gradient is the slope:

y+2=3(x-0) or y=3x-2

b) slope is -5 (parallele to y=-5x+4)

y+1=-5(x-0) or y=-5x-1

Why is -a² is always negative (a ≠ 0) and why is (-a)² is always positive?
hjlf
-a^2=(-1)\cdot a\cdot a

Regardless of the sign of a, we have a\cdot a=a^2\ge0 (never negative). But multiplying by -1 makes it negative.

On the other hand,

(-a)^2=((-1)\cdot a)^2=(-1)^2\cdot a^2=1\cdot a^2=a^2

which can never be negative for real a.

G(-3) if g(x)=2x-4 show your work
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

g(-3) = -10

Step-by-step explanation:

All you have to do is plug -3 in for x!

g(-3) = 2(-3) - 4

g(-3) = -6 - 4

g(-3) = -10

The diameter of a car wheel is 60 cm, if the car travels at an average speed of 13.2m/s, find the number of revolutions made by
mixer [17]

The wheel has diameter 60 cm = 0.60 m, and thus circumference π(0.60 m) ≈ 5.923 m.

In one complete revolution, a point on the edge of the wheel covers this distance, so that the wheel has an angular speed of

(13.2 m/s) * (1/5.923 rev/m) ≈ 2.229 rev/s

There are 60 seconds to each minute, and 60 minutes to each hour, so converting to rev/h gives

(2.229 rev/s) * (60 s/min) * (60 min/h) ≈ 8024 rev/h

Which rule can be used to describe the growth of the y vales of the function y=12^x over each interval from x=-1 to x=3?
valentinak56 [21]
The function is f(x)=12^x.

This means that as we get from 1 to 2, we have the following values:

f(1)=12^1=12, and f(2)=12^2=12\cdot12.

Similarly, if we check x=3, we have f(3)=12^3=12\cdot12\cdot12.

We can see that as x changes by 1 (with greater values), y increases by a factor of 12.
