\text { The function rule is volume }=\pi \times \text { radius' }^{2} \times(3+4 \times \text { radius) and Volume }=44 \pi \text { when radius }=2

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given that, we have to write a function rule for the volume of the cylinder with a height 3 inches more than 4 times the radius of the cylinders base. And the volume of the cylinder when it has a radius of 2 inches

Now, let us write the function rule.

We are given that, height 3 inches more than 4 times the radius of the cylinders base

\begin{array}{l}{\rightarrow \text { Height }=3 \text { inches }+4 \text { times radius of cylinders base. }} \\\\ {\rightarrow \text { Height }=3+4 \times \text { radius. }}\end{array}

Then, \text { volume }=\pi \times \text { radius' }^{2}\times \text { height } \rightarrow \text { volume }=\pi \times \text { radius }^{2} \times(3+4 \times\text { radius) }

So we have written the function rule.

Let us find volume when radius = 2.

\begin{array}{l}{\text { Then, volume }=\pi \times 2^{2} \times(3+4 \times 2)} \\\\ {\Rightarrow \pi \times 4 \times(3+8)=\pi \times 4 \times 11=44 \pi}\end{array}

A department store purchases logo shirts at a cost of $10 per shirt. They mark up the price 100% and put them on the sales floor
Kazeer [188]
<span><u><em>The final cost to the customer would be: </em></u>
$8.85.

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>
We can find this answer by taking each step individually.

<u>The first step is to determine the cost after the 100% markup. </u>
To get this, we would multiply the original cost by 2.
10*2 = 20.

<u>Now that we have that new cost, we would find the cost after each markdown. </u>
We would get this by taking the cost from the previous month and multiplying by 0.75 (75%), which is how much is left after each markdown of 25%.
First ---> 20*.75 = 15.
Second---> 15*.75 = 11.25.
Third ---> 11.25*.75 = 8.43.

<u>Now that we have the cost of each shirt, we have to find the price along with sales tax.</u>
Since the sales tax is 5%, we need to multiply by the whole cost 100% plus the addition 5% or (1.05).
8.43*1.05= 8.85. </span>

A survey of 100 people found that 35 people exercise in
Kruka [31]

Answer:

Jim's claim is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

Total survey=100 people

Morning exercise=35 people

Afternoon exercise=45 people

Night exercise=20 people

Morning exercise : Total survey

=35 : 100

Afternoon exercise : Total survey

=45 : 100

Night exercise : Total survey

=20 : 100

Jim's claim is correct because in finding the ratio, one has to relate it with the total people involved in the survey.

Tara's claim however seems to relate one variable with two other variables

Example:

35 : 55

Morning exercise : (morning exercise + night exercise)

35 : (35+20)

35 : 55

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

A mathematical equation is the representation of a problem by the use of variables. Often times, an equation is formed from the factors that are in a problem.

We have to represented each of the books read with an algebraic term;

Let the number of mystery books be y

Let the number of sports books be x

Total number of books = 23

We know that;

x + y = 23

but y = 10

x = 23 - 10

x = 13 books
