The answer to question #1 is 11:

√x² = √121

√x² = x
√121 = 11

So the answer is x = 11.
==========================================================

For the second question, I don't know what the exact answer is, but I do know that it is one of the options with 8/3. I can't figure this out because I don't know how to do √x³. Here was the work that I did do:

√64        8           Based on this, I would say the answer has to be positive 8/3.
------- = -----
√27       3√3

If using the method of completing the square to solve the quadratic equation x^2 - 9x - 8 = 0, which number would have to be add
V125BC [204]

Answer:

Number: 28.25

Solution to Quadratic: x=\frac{9}{2}\pm\frac{\sqrt{113}}{2}}

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2-9x-8=0

x^2-9x-8+28.25=0+28.25 <-- 28.25 is the number you need to add

x^2-9x+20.25=28.25

(x-4.5)^2=28.25

x-4.5=\pm\sqrt{28.25}

x=4.5\pm\sqrt{28.25}

x=\frac{9}{2}\pm\sqrt{\frac{113}{4}}

x=\frac{9}{2}\pm\frac{\sqrt{113}}{2}}

What is the slope of the line that contains these points?<br><br> X 5 6 7 8<br> Y -3 -1 1 3
castortr0y [4]

The slope of the line is 2.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The given points are (5,-3) , (6,-1) , (7,1) , (8,3).

To find the slope of the line that contain these points is calculated by the slope formula.

Slope = (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

Take any two points from the given set of points.

Let,

(x1,y1) = (5,-3)

(x2,y2) = (6,-1)

Slope = (-1+3) / (6-5) ⇒ 2

Therefore, the slope of the line is 2.

Similarly, the slope of the line can be known by using any two points on the line in the slope formula.
