Here we go,

\frac{4}{  |p| }  + 12 = 14

Subtract 12 from both sides,

\frac{4}{ |p| }  + 12 - 12 = 14 - 12 \\  \frac{4}{ |p| }  = 2

Multiply both sides with |p|

\frac{4}{ |p| }  \times  |p|  = 2 \times  |p |  \\ 4 = 2 \times  |p| \\
divide both sides with 2

\frac{4}{2}  =  \frac{(2 \times  |p| )}{2}  \\ 2 =  |p|

Therefore,

|p| equals 2.

A contractor bought 6.4 ftof sheet metal. She has used 3.7 ft2 so far and has $43.20 worth of
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

$16

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the cost per square foot we have to solve the given equation for x:

6.4x - 3.7x = 43.2

2.7x = 43.2

Divide both sides of the equation by 2.7 to isolate the x:

2.7x/2.7 = 43.2/2.7

x = 16

The sheet metal costs $16 per square foot.

Hope this helps :)

How to compare rates and ratios
Leviafan [203]
Ratios don't have to be "per" something, while rates are "per" something.

Ratios compare 2 or more values, as well as rates.
