The correct answer is "B".

The scramble for Africa was the occupation and colonization of the African Continent by the major European Powers. It occurred between 1881 and 1914.

The country which made the first efforts for exploration was France when Pierre Savorgnan started exploring the former Kingdom of Kongo for France. These efforts caught the attention of the other European governments and several efforts of exploration and colonization started since 1881. At the time, only 10% of Africa was effectively colonized. By 1914, 90% of the continent would be colonized.

What are the causes and effects of the embargo act of 1807
romanna [79]

Answer: President Thomas Jefferson hoped that the Embargo Act of 1807 would help the United States by demonstrating to Britain and France their dependence on American goods, convincing them to respect American neutrality and stop impressing American seamen. Instead, the act had a devastating effect on American trade.
