<u>The Cotton Gin is a machine that separates fibers of cotton from their seeds and this machine does this procedure very quickly.</u> This enables greater and faster productivity as compared to other manual cotton separation. These fibers are then processed into cotton goods of various forms such as linens whereas all the undamaged cotton is used mostly in textile industry for clothing. <u>The seeds separated are also used grow more cotton and also is used to produce cottonseed oil.</u> A cotton gin which was modern mechanical machine was invented by Eli Whitney and his machine was a combination of wire screen and small wire hooks and the work of these hooks was to pull the cotton through whereas the brushes continuously removed the cotton that was loose in order to prevent jams. This invention came in as a revolution of cotton industry of United States. <u>With revolution in cotton Industry, This also led to rise in slavery as there was a demand for cotton workers which increased rapidly.</u> This invention is also called to be an contributing factor which led to American Civil War. The irony about the cotton gin was that the inventor of the machine was from the North.
