Answer:

The correct answer is option c.

Explanation:

The G1 phase of the cell cycle refers to the initial phase of the cell cycle or the first phase of the cell division that needs some additional growth element called mitogen in order to carry on the process. However, these mitogens are needed until the cell attains a particular state in the G1 phase.

If the mitogens are withdrawn prior to that state, the cell cycle will get an arrest. Once the cell has reached and passed that state it becomes completely independent of mitogen and does not care for the presence of mitogen. This state is called restriction point, which usually takes place in late G1 phase.

After passing the restriction point, the cell is destined to go through the process of mitosis regardless of the absence of existence of mitogen. Thus, the correct answer is option c.

Explain the difference between chromosomes, chromatids and chromatin. (3-4 sentences)
Stella [2.4K]

CHROMATIN : It can be simply referred to as genetic material in loose or normal form. It can be DNA or RNA inside the plant or animal cell's nucleus.

2. CHROMOSOME : When the chromatin material is condensed prior to the cell division and get highly organized form that can be visible in form of proper structures have two chromatids, they are called chromosomes.

The process of formation of chromosomes from chromatin occurs mainly in prophase of Mitosis or  Prophase II or Prophase I of Meiosis.

3. CHROMATID : Chromatid is also referred to as sister chhromatids since there are two chromatids present in one chromosome that are almost similar. Chromatids can be considered as arms of chromosomes which are attached at a point centromere (please see the image for better understanding).

Hope it help!
