KARMA: (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.

MAURYAN: relating to or characteristic of the Maurya dynasty of northern India.


MONSOON:  is a seasonal shift in the prevailing wind direction, that usually brings with it a different kind of weather.

NIRVANA: (in Buddhism) a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth.

REINCARNATION : the rebirth of a soul in a new body.


SANSKRIT:an ancient Indo-European language of India, in which the Hindu scriptures and classical Indian epic poems are written and from which many northern Indian (Indic) languages are derived.

INDUS RIVER VALLEY CIVILIZATION: The Indus Valley Civilization was an ancient civilization located in what is Pakistan and northwest India today, on the fertile flood plain of the Indus River and its vicinity.

MOHENJO-DARO : Mohenjo-daro was built in the 26th century BCE. It was one of the largest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, also known as the Harappan Civilization, which developed around 3,000 BCE from the prehistoric Indus culture.

EDICT: an official order or proclamation issued by a person in authority.

MONK: a member of a religious community of men typically living under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

ALLIANCE:a union or association formed for mutual benefit, especially between countries or organizations.


PHILOSOPHY: the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline.
