Wor Alluvium means to wash against, is a loose unconsolidated soil reshaped by water in soemfrom and redeposited in an non marine setting.

  • Being typically made up of a variety of minerals like silt and clay. And larger particles of sand and gravel. When this loose material s being deposited and being cemented and lithified, its ten called as alluvial deposits.
  • An alluvial fan is also the deposit left by the river like in lake sediments glacier sdimantand and river sediments. Belonging from the quaternary ages these are often referred to as "covers" as the sediments obscure the underlying sedimentary rocks.
  • Alluvium contains ores of gold and platinum and a wide variety of gemstones. Such as the concentration of valuable ores and placer deposits. The marine sandstone, shale, and semi consolidated material occupy the major parts of the uplands.
