The Plessy vs. Ferguson decision stated which of the following ideas? Helo Resources A. All citizens have the right to own a gun
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

C. People of different races could be restricted to separate areas in public places.

Explanation:

The 1857 Supreme Court case of Plessy vs. Ferguson held that separate but equal facilities are constitutional. This means that racial segregation is legally constitutional as long as it has equal facilities for both races.

This case was a result of an incident when Homer Adolph Plessy, a mixed-race man was traveling in a train bound for Louisiana. He sat at the whites-only section of the train for which he was asked to move to the blacks section which he refused. Convicted of breaking the law, Plessy filed a petition against Hon. John H. Ferguson, the judge who presided over the case. The court ruled in favor of the state with the conclusion that since the train had equal facilities for both races and convicted Plessy.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.

How did the war of 1812 and free enterprise affect the u.s. economy
Gala2k [10]
It helped the US economy grow, because it gave the US more of a reason to industrialize like the British. The US needed to mass produce guns and ammunition in order to recreate their military. The mass production of products led to the Industrial Revolution years later.

which muslim empire-the umayyads, the ottomans, or the moguls-treated the non-muslim subjects the most fairly? the least fairly?
VladimirAG [237]

The Mongols treated the non-muslim subjects most fairly, while the Ottomans treated them the least fairly.

The Mongols were religiously tolerant because they conquered and rule through manpower rather than religion. The Ottomans were the least fair to non-muslims. It is close between the Umayyads and the Ottomans, but the only difference is the amount of discrimination (per se) held against non-muslims. While the Umayyads only had the jizya (tax paid if you were non-muslim), the Ottomans had distinctive restrictions on non-muslims. They had dress codes according to their religion and could only reside in neighborhoods who's residents were of the same religion (under the Ottomans).
