Alcohol is rapidly absorbed by the stomach, when the concentration of the drink in between 10-30 percent. Below 10% concentration gradient of the alcohol in the blood the absorption in the gastrointestinal tract becomes slow.
Also if the stomach is full this will delay the process of absorption of alcohol and if it is empty then the process of absorption will be fast.
