Answer:

For the pairs that satisfy that the sum is less than 7 we have:

(1,1) (2,1) (1,2) (3,1) (2,2) (1,3) (4,1) (3,2) (2,3) (1,4) (5,1) (4.2) (3,3) (2,4) (1,5)

So we have a total of 15 pairs where the sum is less than 7

And for an odd sum we have the following pairs

(2,1) (1,2) (4,1) (3,2) (2,3) (1,4) (6,2) (5,2) (4,3) (3,4) (2,5) (1,6) (6,3) (5,4) (4,5) (3,6) (6,5) (5,6)

A total of 18 pairs and we have 6 pairs who are in both cases for the sum less than 7 and the sum an odd number that represent the intersection and using the total probability rule we got:

P = \frac{15+18-6}{36}= \frac{27}{33}= 0.818

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case when a pair of dice is rolled we have the following sample pace for the outcomes:

(1,1) (1,2) (1,3) (1,4) (1,5) (1,6)

(2,1) (2,2) (2,3) (2,4) (2,5) (2,6)

(3,1) (3,2) (3,3) (3,4) (3,5) (3,6)

(4,1) (4,2) (4,3) (4,4) (4,5) (4,6)

(5,1) (5,2) (5,3) (5,4) (5,5) (5,6)

(6,1) (6,2) (6,3) (6,4) (6,5) (6,6)

We see 36 possible outcomes and we want to find how many of these pairs we got rolling an odd sum or a sum less than 7

P = \frac{15+18-6}{36}= \frac{27}{33}= 0.818

F(x) =<br> - 6x5 + 4x3<br> Which characteristic is correct for the function
AlekseyPX

Complete question:

F(x) = -6x^5 + 4x^3

Which characteristic is correct for the function

a) odd

b) neither even nor odd

c) both even and odd

d) even

Answer:

a) odd

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the equation:

F(x) = -6x^5 + 4x^3

To test for even or odd let's perform the following:

F

Replace "x" with "-x"

Thus,

F(x) = -6x^5 + 4x^3

=  -6(-x)^5 + 4(-x)^3

=  6x^5 + -4x^3

Since -6x^5 + 4x^3 ≠ -6(-x)^5 + 4(-x)^3 the equation is not even.

Also,  the signs changed, the equation is considered to be odd.

I.e f(x) = -f(x)

Correct answer is option (a) odd

First lets get the ratio for the avocado and pear trees and work from there
We know there are 5 pear trees for every 2 avocado trees or 5:2

Since we know the total Avocado trees is 18 we can find out how much to multiply the ratio by dividing the total number of trees(18) by the Avocado portion of the ratio (2) 18/2 = 9.

This means to get the total number of pear trees we need to also multiply the pear side of the ratio (5) by 9.  5*9 = 45 pear trees

Now that we know the pear trees we do the same thing with the apple and pear trees to figure out the total apple trees.  The ratio of apple to pear trees is 4:3.

Since we know the total number of pear trees is 45 we divide that by the pear side of the ratio (3) to get our multiplier.  45/3=15.

We then multiply our apple side of the ratio (4) by our multiplier (15) to get our total number of apple trees.  4*15=60

Now we know that we have 60 apple trees and 18 avocado trees or 60:18 which reduced is 10:3  apple trees:avocado trees

Admission to a baseball game is $4.50 for general admission and $6.00 for reserved seats. The receipts were $4569.00 for 894 pai
OverLord2011 [107]

Answer:

g = 530.  r = 364

Step-by-step explanation:

Let g = number of general admission tickets

let r = reserved tickets

4.50g + 6r = 4569

g + r = 894

Multiply second equation by -6

-6g - 6r = -5364

Add to first equation

-6g - 6r = -5364

4.5g + 6r = 4569

-——————————

-1.5g = -795.    Divide by -1.5

g = 530

Substitute into equation

530 + r = 894

r = 364
