Mediterranean sea is partly enclosed, with high salinity, temperature and density.

Explanation:

The net evaporation in the sea exceeds the precipitation which means that the sea can be shallow at many places and is extremely saline.<u> It is fed by the straight of Gibraltar and opposite currents from the ocean to maintain its level. </u>

<u>The sea also has very low nutrient component which means that sea sickness would  be  more common in such harsh conditions than usual.</u>
