Jill is standing at the base of her apartment building. She measures the angle of elevation to the top of a nearby tower to be 4

0º. Then Jill goes to the roof of her apartment building, directly above her previous position, and measures the angle of elevation to the top of the same tower to be 30°. If the height of the tower is 100 meters, the height of Jill's apartment building is (answer here) meters.

Let the distance of Jill form the base of the tower be x, then tan 40 = 100/x
x = 100/tan 40 = 100/0.8391 = 119.18 meters

Let the height of the tower from the level of the top of Jill's apartment be y, then tan 30 = y/119.18
y = 119.18 x tan 30 = 68.8 meters

Therefore, the height of Jill's apartment is 100 - 68.8 = 31.2 meters

Answer:

x < 7

Step-by-step explanation:

First apply the -2 onto each term that it is being multiplied onto.

-2x + 6 > - 8

Now subtract six from both sides.

-2x > -14

Now divide by -2.

x < 7

Timothy began the week with $35.He bought lunch at school,paying $2.25 for each meal. Let x be the number of meals he bought at
Andrew [12]

Hello 156339

Since we know the amount of money is always decreasing, then we should know to subtract by 35. Because 2.25 is the cost per meal and x is the number of meals, the total cost should be 2.25x, which is correct because y is the amount of money left over.

Our final equation would be:

y = 35 - 2.25x
