For the given trinomial

a=-1, b=1 ,c=42

We need to multiply a by c
-1 \times 42 = - 42

We split the middle term with these two factors
7,-6
To obtain,

- {x}^{2} + 7x -6x + 42
We now factor

- {x}^{2} + x + 42 \: = x( - x + 7) + 6( - x + 7)
This implies

- {x}^{2} + x + 42: = (x + 6)(7 - x)

(4, -1) (3, 5) In this problem, we use the formula y2 - y1 over x2 - x1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Plug In--> <u>5 - (-1)</u>

                            3 - 4

Step 2: Simplify. --> <u>6</u>

Exponent Laws - difference between product law and product raised to a power (with formula please)
enyata [817]

Answer:

Exponent laws:

1. Product law

x^{a}\times x^{b}\times x^{c}=x^{a+b+c}

In product law if bases are same then we add their respective powers.But if bases are different we can't add their powers.

x=base, a,b,c=exponent

If x=2 and a=3, b=5 , and c=10, then

2^{3}\times2^{5}\times2^{10}=2^{3+5+10}=2^{18}

2.Product raised to a power

1. [x^{a}]^{c}=x^{ac}

2. [x^{a}\times x^{b}]^{c}=[x^{a+b}]^{c}=x^{ac+bc}

If product is raised to a certain power , keeping the base same , we just multiply the powers.for example

[2^{3}]^{4}=2^{3\times4}=2^{12} and

[2^{3}\times3^{2}]^{2}=[2^{3}]^2 \times[3^{2}]^{2}=2^{6}\times3^{4}

[2^{3}\times2^{2}]^{2}=[2^{3+2}]^{2}=[2^{5}]^{2}=2^{10}

If M &lt;1 = 115 degrees what is m &lt;2
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

M<2= 65

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason it is 65 because 2 angles add up to either 90 or 180 and in this case it would be 180.

You would use angle addition postulate to find the answer so M<1 + M<2 = 180.

Since M<1 is 115 you would substitute it into the formula so 115 + M<2 = 180

Then you would subtract 115 from 180 in which you would get M<2 = 65
