Use y2-y1/x2-x1
So 0-5/3-2
-5/1= m= -5
Then plug it into y=MX+B

0= -5(3)+b
0= -15+b
b=15
y=-5x+15

So I hope this helps but I'm not sure how to plug it into that's equation. The rest of my work is rigt

Students who attend Anytown College pay either in-state or out-of-state tuition, depending on where they reside. The mean and st
netineya [11]

Answer:

For a pair of randomly selected in- and out-of-state students, the sum of their tuition typically varies from the mean of $6,348.75 by about $1,508.48.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\mu S = \$6,348.75

\sigma S = \$1,508

Required

Interpret the standard deviations

In statistic, standard deviation is a measure of how the given data lies away (or varies) from the mean.

This implies that:

For the in-state students, the standard deviation measures how the sum of their tuition varies from 6348.75

For the out-state students, the standard deviation measures how the sum of their tuition varies from 1508

Can someone help me and explain how you did it?
Feliz [49]

Answer:

slope: -3/5

y-intercept: (0, 4)

slope-intercept form: y = -3/5x + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3><u>Finding the slope</u></h3>

To find the slope of this line, you would take two points from the table and substitute their coordinates into the slope formula.

Slope formula: \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

I'm going to use the points (0, 4) and (5, 1). You can really use any point from the table. Substitute these points into the formula to find the slope.

(0, 4), (5, 1) → \frac{1-4}{5-0} \rightarrow \frac{-3}{5}

This means the slope of the line is -3/5.

<h3><u>Finding the y-intercept</u></h3>

The y-intercept will always have the value of x be 0 (so the point is solely on the y-axis), so by looking at the table we can see that the y-intercept is at (0, 4).

<h3><u>Finding the slope-intercept form</u></h3>

Since we have the slope and a point of the line, we must use point-slope form to find the equation of the line in slope-intercept form. Substitute in the point (0, 4) --you could use any point from the table-- and the slope -3/5 into the point-slope form equation.

point-slope form: y - y1 = m(x - x1) --you'll be substituting the point coordinates and slope into y1, x1, and m.

y - (4) = -3/5(x - (0))

Simplify.

y - 4 = -3/5x

Add 4 to both sides.

y = -3/5x + 4 is the equation of the line in slope-intercept form (you have both the slope and the y-intercept in this form).

After walking 1/4 mile from home and Han is 1/3 of his way to school. What is the distance between his home in school right mult
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

Distance from home to school =\frac{1}{4}\times 3= \frac{3}{4}\ mile

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance from home to school be = x miles

After walking \frac{1}{4} mile, Han is \frac{1}{3}rd of the way.

\frac{1}{3} \textrm{ of the total distance } = \frac{1}{4}\ mile

\frac{1}{3}x= \frac{1}{4}\ mile

Multiplying both sides by 3

3\times\frac{1}{3}x= \frac{1}{4}\times 3

x= \frac{3}{4}\ mile

Distance from home to school =\frac{3}{4}\ mile
