Both chords are congruent(equal) so:
5x= 20

divide both sides by 5, and x=4

4) 4x + 3y = 56
2x + y = 24
Solve using elimination please show work
lesya [120]

Answer:

x = 8     y = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiply 2nd equation by -3 to get -6x - 3y = -72

Now  4x + 3y = 56

         -6x - 3y = -72

         -2x      =  -16

            x = 8

Substitute x = 8 into the 2nd equation

2(8) + y = 24

16 + y = 24

y = 8

Check: Substitute the values into the 1st equation

4(8) + 3(8) = 32 + 24 = 56  So we have the correct values for x and y

Explain how to solve the equation 2x+4=-6x+38 in complete sentences. Your response needs to be a paragraph in length and use app
icang [17]

Answer:

×=17/4

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation 2x+ 4=-6x+38

First of all you collect like terms by moving the number -6x over to the left hand side which then becomes +6x as it crosses the equal to sign, likewise you move +4 over to the right hand side which then becomes -4. The equation is now 2x+6x=38-4, which when solved gives 8x=34. X is then made subject of formula by dividing both sides by 8 therefore x=34/8 which when reduced to the lowest term is 17/4

I hope it helps

PLEASE HELP!!ABCD∼EFGH

AD=30 in. , EH=50 in. , and CD=15 in.

What is GH ?
Novosadov [1.4K]
Hello there user!

You're answer is going to be -

GH= 25 inches

Explain)

A-D= 30 inches

Half of AD = 15 inches, therefore all you need to do is split the next set in half as well.

50 divided by two is 25, therefore you're answer is 25 inches.

Hope this helps you! Have a great rest of you're day!
