R + c = 80....r = 80 - c
0.50r + 0.10c = 20

0.50(80 - c) + 0.10c = 20
40 - 0.50c + 0.10c = 20
-0.50c + 0.10c = 20 - 40
-0.40c = -20
c = -20/0.40
c = 50 <=== she put in 50 carnations

r = 80 - c
r = 80 - 50
r = 30 <=== she put in 30 roses

The volume of the pyramid shown in the figure is....cubic centimeters. If the slant height of the pyramid increases by 4 centime
Sergio [31]
Can't see the figure, but the basic way to solve this problem is to use the formula for volume of a pyramid which is (length * width * height )/3. Slant height is just the square root of ((length/2)2 + height2) recognizing that there is a right triangle there. Since slant height increased by 4 cm when its height increased by 2cm, you know that the length/2 term had to increase by the square root of 12 (22+root(12)2) = 42=16. From there you can figure out the rest pretty readily.

Suppose the board of directors for Cosmic Coffee wants to know the price range for the lowest 40% of drink sales. Find the z-sco
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

The z-score associated with the upper boundary of of this price range is -0.25.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is provided that the board of directors for Cosmic Coffee wants to know the price range for the lowest 40% of drink sales.

If X represents the price range of drink sales, then

P (X < x) = 0.40

Consider that X follows a Normal distribution.

To compute the probability of a normally distributed random variable we need to first convert the raw score to the z-scores.

The formula to z-score is:

z=\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}

Then,

P (X < x) = 0.40

⇒ P (Z < z) = 0.40

The value of z for this probability is:

z = -0.25

*Use a z-table.

Thus, the z-score associated with the upper boundary of of this price range is -0.25.
