Homan's  Test is an examination procedure of the ankle to test for dorsiflexion, which signals thromboembolism. This is done by putting patient in supine position with leg straight, and then raising the leg 10 degrees. The examiner will then dorsiflex the foot and squeeze the calf. Pain in the calf upon flexion of the ankle with the leg straight means a positive Homan's sign.
