Compost include decomposed organic matter this include plant and animal waste, organic waste that are used as amendment of soil. Compost are manures added to soil,they very rich in nutrients and are use in horticultural gardens ,farms, fields to act as humid soil and to reduces the incidence of pest, compost helps reduce the incidence of erosion.

Compost are used as soil amendment in agriculture they can be used in place of inorganic fertilizer or used solely as

organic fertilizer to supply nutrients into the soil, they can also be added to growing medium such as green house as soil amendment.

Compost help reduced incidence of erosion i.e the washing away of top soil because they act as fillers but not leaving the soil bare. They are rich in nutrients and minerals that is needed for plant growth.
