Answer:

width=4

length=18

Step-by-step explanation:

length-6=3width

length=3width+6

also:

perimeter of the rectangle=2(length+width)

44/2=width+length

22=width+length

now put the length we found in the 1st equation, in 22=width+length

=>22=width+3width+6

22-6=4width

width=4

now do the exact same thing with one of these equations:

22=width+length

length=3width+6

I'd do it with the 1st one:

22=4+length

22-4= length

length=18

Find the distance between the points (5, -5) and (-7,4).
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

<h2>The answer is 15 units</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

d =  \sqrt{ ({x1 - x2})^{2} +  ({y1 - y2})^{2}  } \\

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

(5, -5) and (-7,4)

The distance between them is

d =  \sqrt{ ({5 + 7})^{2}  +  ({ - 5 - 4})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {12}^{2}  + ( { - 9})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{144 + 81}  \\  =  \sqrt{225}  \\  = 15 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

We have the final answer as

<h3>15 units</h3>

Hope this helps you

Here we go again... can someone explain how these problems work?
Effectus [21]

Answer:

x = 5 only

≡ On a graph, the point touches (5, 0), making <em>x</em> equal to 0.

≡ In other words, you must replace <em>y</em> with <em>0</em> to solve for <em>x. </em>There is no <em>y</em> term in this problem, so you must determine <em>y</em> by separating the coefficients into groups and determining each part.

The diagonal of a rectangle is 25 inch. the width is 15 in. what is the area of the rectangle?
givi [52]
D= diagonal= 25 in
w= 15 in

A= w√(d^2﹣w^2)

A= (15)√(25^2 - 15^2)
square in parentheses

A= (15)√(625 - 225)
subtract in parentheses

A= (15)√(400)
take square root of 400

A= (15)(20)

A= 300 in^2

ANSWER: The area is 300 inches squared

Hope this helps! :)

If f(x) = 2x - 5 , Find f(3). <br> Substitute 3 for x then type your final answer.
Savatey [412]

Answer:

f(3)=1

Step-by-step explanation:

take f(x)=2(x)-5

put a three wherever you see an x in parentheses

f(3)=2(3) - 5

simplify

f(3)=6-5

simplify

f(3)=1

answer:f(3)=1
