Answer:

Satrted                     36000

Explanation:

opening units     =   9300

Satrted                     36000

                                45300

Transferred              38000

Closing                     7300

Here is the quation

Opning units+Started-Transferred =  Closing units

Now put the values in equation

9300+Started-38000=7300

Started+28700=7300

Transfer the -28700 to left of the equation and change the sign in + due to transfer

Started =7300+28700

Started =36000

Royal Chocolatier, a British manufacturer of chocolates, granted U.S. company American Candy Inc. the right to produce and sell
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

Royal Chocolatier is licensing their product line to American Candy.

Explanation:

Licensing agreements are useful because both the licensee (company receiving the license) and licensor (company granting the license) are benefited:

  • The licensor benefits since the licensee bears all the costs and risks of the new activity.
  • The licensee is able to sell a well established and recognized brand without having to develop the brand themselves.

Licensing results in the licensee bearing the costs and risks.

Assume that the following data relative to Kane Company for 2018 is available: Net Income $2,830,000 Transactions in Common Shar
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

Weighted average shares outstanding = 1,337,000

Basic EPS = $2.07

Diluted EPS = $1.78

Explanation:

Computation of Weighted Average Shares outstanding for 2018

Date Particulars Shares

1-Jan Outstanding 690,000

1-Mar Repurchase (25/30 x 50,400) -42,000  = 648,000

1-Jun Stock split 2-1 (648,000 x 2) = 1,296,000

1-Nov Issued (1/6 x 246,000) = 41,000

Weighted Average Shares outstanding = 1,337,000

Computation of Basic Earnings per share for the year 2018

Basic Earnings per Share (Total Income - Preferred Dividend) / Outstanding Shares

($2,830,000 - $63,000) / 1,337,000 shares

2,767,000/1,337,000 shares

$2.07

Hence EPS basic = $2.07

Note: Preferred Dividend = 6% x $1,050,000 = $63,000

Additional shares for purposes of diluted earnings per share

Particulars                                                           Shares

Potentially Dilutive Securities

6% Cumulative Convertible Preferred Stock  210,000

Stock Options

Proceeds from exercise of 96,000 options (96,000 x $25)

= $2,400,000

Shares issued upon exercise of options = 96,000

Less: Treasury stock purchasable with proceeds

    ($2,400,000 / $30) = 80,000

hence, (96,000 - 80,000) =                                           16,000

Dilutive Securities (Additional Shares)  =              216,000

Computation of Diluted Earnings per share for the year 2018

Diluted Earnings per Share (Total Income - Preferred Dividend) / (Outstanding Shares + Diluted Shares)

(2,830,000 - $63,000) / (1,337,000 + 216,000) shares

$2,767,000 / 1,553,000 shares

$1.78

Hence EPS dilute = $1.78

Consider the relative liquidity of the following assets:
motikmotik

Answer:

Liquidity of an asset refers to how easily convertible the asset is to cash or so called liquid money.

Most Liquid - A $5 bill

This is already cash so it is the most liquid there is.

Second-Most Liquid  - The funds in a money market account

Funds in a money market account are the second most liquid because most often they can simply be withdrawn from the fund. There might be limits on the number of withdrawals allowed though within a period.

Third-Most Liquid  -  A share in a publicly traded company

A share in a publicly trade company ranks here because to realize the cash, one would need to sell the share first.

Least Liquid - Your house

Your house will be the most difficult of these to liquidate as it will involve a much longer process to eventually get it sold and realize cash. The process will include but will not be limited to, advertising, hiring realtors, inspection etc.

A bank is thinking about building a new branch. They think this new branch will generate 20 percent of the business of the bank
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer: 12.6%

Explanation:

The bank's expected standard deviation after adding this branch will be calculated thus:

= (Total invested in new branch × Expected rate of return) + (1 - Investment in new branch) × Other assets

= (0.2 × 0.15) + (1 - 0.2) × 0.12

= 0.03 + 0.8 × 0.12

= 0.03 + 0.096

= 0.126

= 12.6%

Therefore, the bank's expected standard deviation after adding this branch is 12.6%.
