Trava [24]

Answer:

penury (Chapter 1)

emaciated (Chapter 4)

adduced (Chapter 8)

Explanation:

I've chosen the three words above from the novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley. After looking them up in a dictionary, I was able to define them as the following:

penury - oppressive lack of resources; extreme poverty.

emaciated - thin and weak due to lack of food or due to illness.

adduced - past form of adduce - to give reasons as to why you believe something to be true.

Now, let's write sentences with the same context as given in the text of the novel:

Original: [...] while the number of half-clothed children gathered about it spoke of penury in its worst shape.

New sentence: The penury that desolates the country is clearly noted in children's bare feet and bloated stomachs.

Original: My cheek had grown pale with study, and my person had become emaciated with confinement.

New sentence: Her once glowing skin was now emaciated after a whole month in the hospital.

Original: [...] and as her confusion had before been adduced as a proof of her guilt, she worked up her mind to an appearance of courage.

New sentence: My tears were adduced as proof of my feelings for the deceased young man, even though I denied knowing him at all.

KATRIN_1 [288]
The question is asking us "Which of the following pairs of ideas could be combined into a compound sentence?". For this, we need to find two sentences that are related and the answer is C. The days became longer. The children could play outside later. It is assumed here that children should be safe, so when they play outside, it should be daylight, and if the daylight is longer, they can also play outside longer than usually.

What aspects of Mum Bett does the illustration highlight?
Alenkinab [10]
Elizabeth Freeman which also known as Mum Bett was a slave of Western Massachusetts. She was abused and mistreated by her masters. The illustration highlighted that no matter what our races, colors, and physical appearance are; we also have the right to live freely in one’s country by being not mistreated and oppressed. Mum Bett showed bravery and determination to fight for her freedom and rights, the rights to be treated well despite the positions she had. She even took legal actions and wins for it to obtain the freedom and flee from slavery.
