A fact family is basically just different equations with the same numbers getting the same/different numbers as answers you might say...
this will make more sense:
5x8=40
8x5=40
40/8=5
40/5=8

______________

is a bit hard to read.  Try this format:
      __________
-4  /   3    7    -20
              -12   20
      -------------------
         3    -5      0

Because the remainder is 0, we know that -4 is a root and (x+4) is a factor.  Note the new coefficients in the last row:    3   -5.  They are the coeff. of the quotient, namely, 3x-5.  So (3x-5) is a factor of the original polynomial.

bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

Part (A): The required equation will be: 6d+20b=150

Part (B):The required equation will be: d=\frac{150-20b}{6}

Part (C):The required equation will be: b=\frac{150-6d}{20}

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Let d represents number of packages of hot dogs and b represents the number of packages of hamburgers.

Part (a)

It is given that the cost of a package of hot dogs is $6 and cost of a package of hamburger is $20.

The required equation will be: 6d+20b=150

Part (b) Solve the above equation for d.

Subtract 20b from both sides.

6d=150-20b

Divide 6 from both sides.

d=\frac{150-20b}{6}

The required equation will be: d=\frac{150-20b}{6}

Part (c) Solve the equation for b.

Subtract 6d from both sides.

20b=150-6d

Divide 20 from both sides, we get

b=\frac{150-6d}{20}

The required equation will be: b=\frac{150-6d}{20}

Simplify x^2-9 over x^2-3x
Alla [95]

Answer:

\frac{x+3}{x} or x+3/x

Step-by-step explanation:

Using D.O.T.S (difference of two squares) formula :

a^{2} -b^{2} = (a+b)(a-b)

x^{2} -9= (x+3)(x-3)

Factorise the second bit:

x^{2} -3x = x(x-3)

Now write out this fraction:

\frac{(x+3)(x-3)}{x(x-3)}

Now we can cancel out repeated terms (x-3):

\frac{(x+3)}{x}
This is our final answer:

\frac{x+3}{x}
