Answer:

Trent is 12.

Step-by-step explanation:

T =  2K      (Trent is twice as old as Kennedy)

K =  L - 4   (Kennedy is 4 years younger than Leslee)

2 (L - 4)   +     L - 4        +         L         =    28

   Tom        Kennedy         Leslee

2L - 8  + L + 4 + L   =  28

4L  =  28 - 8 - 4

4L = 40

L    = 10   (Leslee is 10)

Plug in L into Trent's age):

2 (L - 4)

2 (10 - 4)

2 (6)

12   (Trent's age)

And, of course, Kennedy must be 6 because 28 - 10 - 12 = 6

Answer: Brent is 16 years old

Step-by-step explanation: i don’t know if this is correct but the way i did it was, 8 + 8=16, 16 + 8 = 24, then 8 - 4 = 4, 16 + 8 + 4 = 28.

how many 1 1/2 centimeter cubes can fit into a rectangular prism that has a length of 12 centimeters , a width of 6 centimeters
VLD [36.1K]

The long, straightforward, brute-force way to slog through the problem:

The prism is 12cm x 6cm x 9cm.

Volume of the prism = (12 x 6 x 9) = 648 cm³

Volume of each little cube = (1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5) = 3/375 cm³

Number of little cubes that fit into the prism =  (648 cm³) / (3.375 cm³) = <em>

                                                                                     192 of them</em>

=============================================

The elegant but almost equally long way to master the problem:

The prism is 12cm x 6cm x 9cm.

If each dimension of your measuring cubie is 1.5cm,
then the prism measures

     (8 cubie lengths) x (4 cubie widths) x (6 cubie heights) .

Its volume is  (8 x 4 x 6) = <em>192 measuring cubies</em>.

The sum of two consecutive numbers is -165. Find the value of the smaller number.
zalisa [80]

Let's say the smaller number is x.  Then, we can represent the larger number as x + 1. The +1 means that it's both larger, because adding makes a number larger, and consecutive, because it's 1 greater or less.

Then, we can write an equation. The sum of the two numbers is x + (x + 1), and it's equal to -165.

x + (x + 1) = -165

2x + 1 = -165

2x = -166

x = -83

Since x = -83, the smaller number is -83.

What is the range of the function y =^3 Square root x+ 8?
aksik [14]

Answer:

  all real numbers

Step-by-step explanation:

The range of any odd root function is all real numbers, <em>cube root</em> included.

  y = ∛(x+8)

is defined for all values of x. It may take on any value for y.

____

The horizontal scale of the graph is quite large so as to show the vertical extent keeps increasing. (The x-intercept is -8.)

The ratio of students who prefer comedic plays to students who prefer romantic plays in the drama club is 2 to 3. If all student
masha68 [24]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

2 to 3 means that the ratio of romantic students has a numerator of 3. If there is a numerator of 3 the denominator has to be 5 because 2+3 is five if the fraction is 3/5, then the answer is A.
