Answer:

6.1 gallons of 100% antifreeze and 48.9 gallons of 10% antifreeze

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of 100% antifreeze be x gallon

let the amount of 10% antifreeze be y gallon

total amount to drum = 55 gallons

therefore x + y = 55 -------------------------------Eqn 1

    100%(x) + 10(y) = 20%(55)

     x + 0.1y = 11--------------------------------------Eqn 2

Both equations are solved simultaneously

From eqn 1 x = 55-y

Substitute x = 55-y into eqn 2

55-y+0.1y = 11

collecting like terms

44 = 0.9y

y = 48.88889

x = 55- 48.88889 = 6.11111 gallons

Therefore 6.1 gallons of 100% antifreeze and 48.9 gallons of 10% antifreeze

Inga [223]

Answer:

\frac{1}{4845} probability that you and your 3 friends will be selected.

Step-by-step explanation:

A probability is the number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes.

In this question, the order in which the volunteers are chosen is not important, which means that the combinations formula is used to solve this question.

Combinations formula:

C_{n,x} is the number of different combinations of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

Desired outcomes:

You and the 3 friends(4 people), from a set of 4. So

D = C_{4,4} = \frac{4!}{4!0!} = 1

Total outcomes:

20 people from a set of 20. So

T = C_{20,4} = \frac{20!}{4!16!} = 4845

Probability:

p = \frac{D}{T} = \frac{1}{4845}

\frac{1}{4845} probability that you and your 3 friends will be selected.

Arturiano [62]

Answer:

The answer is A.

Step-by-step explanation:

The common difference is five because 7-2=5, 12-7=5, 17-12=5, 22-17=5, and so on.

A waitress sold 11 ribeye steak dinners and 18 grilled salmon dinners, totaling 592.29 on a particular day. Another day she sold
Rina8888 [55]

Let the cost of 1 ribeye steak dinner = x

The cost of 1 salmon dinner = y

Then,

11x + 18y = 592.29   (1)

16x + 6y = 580.56   (2)

Multiplying the second equation by 3, we get,

48x + 18y = 1741.68   (3)

(3) - (1) gives

37x = 1149.39

x = 31.06

Substituting the value for x in (1), we get,

11(31.06) + 18y = 592.29

341.66 + 18y = 592.29

18y = 250.63

y = 13.92

Hence, the cost of ribeye steak dinner = 31.06 and the cost of grilled salmon dinner = 13.92.

What is the common difference or common ratio of the sequence 2, 5, 8, 11, ...?
dem82 [27]
Answer:
B. 3

Explanation:
2 + 3 = 5
5 + 3 = 8
8 + 3 = 11

This is how you find the common rate between a sequence of numbers. If you find how to get to on number, you see if it works on another, and so on. If it does, that is the rate.
