The amount of his monthly payment will be $175.53 ⇒ B

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of the monthly payment is M.P=\frac{P(\frac{r}{n})(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}}{(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}-1} , where

  • P is the principal investment amount
  • r is the annual interest rate (decimal)
  • n is the number of times that interest is compounded per unit t
  • t is the time the money is invested or borrowed for

∵ Hiram took out a subsidized student loan of $30,000 at a 3.6% APR

   compounded monthly

∴ P = 30,000

∴ r = 3.6% = 3.6 ÷ 100 = 0.036

∴ n = 12 ⇒ compounded monthly

∵ He will  begin paying off the loan in 21 months with monthly

   payments lasting for 20  years

∴ t = 20

- Substitute all of these values in the formula above

∵ M.P=\frac{30,000(\frac{0.036}{12})(1+\frac{0.036}{12})^{(12)(20)}}{(1+\frac{0.036}{12})^{(12)(20)}-1}

∴ M.P=\frac{30,000(0.003)(1+0.003)^{240}}{(1+0.003)^{240}-1}

∴ M.P=\frac{90(1.003)^{240}}{(1.003)^{240}-1}

∴ M.P = 175.53

The amount of his monthly payment will be $175.53

The area of a rectangular painting is 5/8 square yard. The width is 3/4 yard. What is the length of the painting?
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>\frac{5}{6}  \:  \:  \:  \: yards \\</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a rectangle = length × width

Since we are finding the length of the rectangle

length =  \frac{area}{width}  \\

From the question

area = 5/8 square yards

width = 3/4 yard

So we have

length =  \frac{5}{8}  \div  \frac{3}{4}  \\  =  \frac{5}{8}  \times  \frac{4}{3}  \\  =  \frac{5}{2}  \times  \frac{1}{3}

We have the final answer as

\frac{5}{6}  \:  \:  \:  \: yards \\

Hope this helps you

A toy manufacturer wants to know how many new toys children buy each year. A sample of 305 children was taken to study their pur
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

The 80% confidence interval for the mean number of toys purchased each year is between 7.5 and 7.7 toys.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that to find our \alpha level, that is the subtraction of 1 by the confidence interval divided by 2. So:

\alpha = \frac{1 - 0.8}{2} = 0.1

Now, we have to find z in the Ztable as such z has a pvalue of 1 - \alpha.

That is z with a pvalue of 1 - 0.1 = 0.9, so Z = 1.28.

Now, find the margin of error M as such

M = z\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In which \sigma is the standard deviation of the population and n is the size of the sample.

M = 1.28\frac{1.5}{\sqrt{305}} = 0.1

The lower end of the interval is the sample mean subtracted by M. So it is 7.6 - 0.1 = 7.5

The upper end of the interval is the sample mean added to M. So it is 7.6 + 0.1 = 7.7

The 80% confidence interval for the mean number of toys purchased each year is between 7.5 and 7.7 toys.
