Answer:

To prove the congruence between two triangles there are several postulates, that can be applied depending on the congruent parts of the triangles.

The postulates are:

  • SAS (Side-Angle-Side): This postulate states that if two triangles have two corresponding sides congruent and one corresponding angle congruent, we can conclude that those triangles are completely congruent.
  • ASA (Angle-Side-Angle): This postulate states that if two triangles have two corresponding angles congruent and one corresponding side congruent, then those triangles are congruent.
  • SSS (Side-Side-Side): This postulate states that if two triangles have all three corresponding sides congruent, then triangles are congruent.
  • AAS (Angle-Angle-Side): If two pairs of corresponding angles are congruent and one pair of corresponding sides is congruent, then both triangle are congruent each other.
  • HL (Hypothenuse-Leg): this postulate is applied when we have right angles. It states that two right triangles are congruent if they have one pair of corresponding leg congruent, and the hypothenuses are also congruent. We could conclude that those right triangles are congruent.

From these postulate, we can demonstrate the congruence between two triangles. Then, from that congruence, we deduct the congruence between each corresponding parts of those triangles. For example, if we demonstrate the congruence by AAS, we deduct that the third angle is also congruent, and the other two sides are also congruent.

Question 1: The water level in a tank can be modeled by the function h(t)=4cos(+)+10, where t is the number of hours
Amanda [17]

Answer:

Question 1: The hours that will pass between two consecutive times, when the water is at its maximum height is π hours

Question 2: Sin of the angle is -0.8

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 1: Here we have h(t) = 4·cos(t) + 10

The maximum water level can be found by differentiating h(t) and equating the result to zero as follows;

\frac{\mathrm{d}  h(t)}{\mathrm{d} t} = \frac{\mathrm{d} \left (4cos(t) + 10  \right )}{\mathrm{d} t} = 0

\frac{\mathrm{d}  h(t)}{\mathrm{d} t} = - 4 \times sin(t) = 0

∴ sin(t) = 0

t = 0, π, 2π

Therefore, the hours that will pass between two consecutive times, when the water is at its maximum height = π hours.

Question 2:

B = (3, -4)

Equation of circle = x² + y² = 25

Here we have

Distance moved along x coordinate = 3

Distance moved along y coordinate = -4

Therefore, we have;

Tan \theta = \frac{Distance \ moved \ along \ y \ coordinate}{Distance \ moved \ along \ x \ coordinate} = \frac{-4}{3}

\therefore \theta = Tan^{-1}(\frac{-4}{3}) = -53.13^{\circ}

Sinθ = sin(-53.13) = -0.799≈ -0.8.

When playing roulette at a casino, a gambler is trying to decide whether to bet $5 on the number 25 or to bet $5 that the outco
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

a) -$3.03; b) The $5 on the number 25

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the expected value, multiply each probability by its value and then add them together.

The probability of making a profit of $20 is 3/38; this gives us

3/38(20) = 60/38

The probability of losing $5 is 35/38; this gives us

35/38(-5) = -175/38

Together, this gives us

60/38-175/38 = -115/38 ≈ $-3.03

b) Since the expected value for the $5 bet on a single number is $-0.53, and the expected value for the $5 on either 00, 0 or 1 is $-3.03, the better bet is on the number 25.  The expected value loses less money with this option.
