Answer:

The ways in which he can make selection = 10\times 9 =90

Step-by-step explanation:

Student is having a list of 10 books.

Assuming that the student can't read the same book twice.

The student has 2 choices to make for an outside reading requirement,for his 1st choice, he had 10 books to choose from; for his 2nd, he has 9 books left to choose from therefore the total permutations of his choices are =10\times 9 =90

So the total ways in which the student can make his selection = 90

One half of a number is 8 less than the number itself
mamaluj [8]
The question is a little vague but I believe the answer would be 16. 16 divided in half is 8. And that is 8 less than 16. < Not the answer for this question.

I didn't understand the question until Maria answered, she is completely right! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

What is an equation of the line that passes through the point (-7,-6)(−7,−6) and is parallel to the line x-y=7x−y=7?
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

y = x + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The gradient of a line can be defined by the equation:

m (gradient) = (y1 – y2 ) ÷ (x1 – x2) ----> "1" and "2" should be in subscript

For (-7,-6) we use x2 and y2 (because this point can be anywhere along a line):

x2 = -7, y2 = -6

Plug these values into the formula above:

m = (y-(-6)) ÷ (x-(-7))

m = (y+6) ÷ (x+7)

At this stage, the equation can't be solved as there are two unknowns. Therefore, the gradient must be found another way. Two lines are parallel if they have the same gradient - in their y=mx+c equations, m will be equal.

x - y=7 is the line alluded to in the question. Rearranging this equation into the line equation format gives:

y = x-7 ---> The gradient (coefficient of x) is 1.

Therefore, the gradient of the other parallel line must also be 1.

This can be substituted into the previous equation to give:

1 = (y+6)÷(x+7)

x+7 = y+6

x+1 = y

Therefore, the answer is y=x+1

Solve 11 ≤ w + 3.4 i dont know the answer please help me
shepuryov [24]

Answer:

7.6 ≤w

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there!

In order to solve this inequality, you need to simplify the inequality like the following:

Subtract 3.4 from both sides

7.6 ≤w

This means that w is greater than or equal to 7.6
