Answer:

I believe the best option is letter D. Erin tries sushi in a Japanese restaurant.

Explanation:

Enculturation is the process in which a person acquires the values, the norms of a culture, having them become a part of their lives, behaviors, and way of thinking. Successful enculturation leads to the individual knowing the rituals, language, and values of that culture. The influence for enculturation to take place comes mostly from parents and other adults, as well as peers. After the assimilation has happened, the individual is accepted as a member of that cultural community.

With that information in mind, we can see that letters A through C represent valuable steps in enculturation. They all involve rituals and values that come from tradition, the people being involved by that culture in crucial areas of their lives, especially their families. However, in letter D, we have a girl who does not belong to the Japanese culture trying Japanese food. Eating such food does not make her Japanese. It does not change her cultural background, her habits and values. Trying another culture's food does not change people's original one. Thus, letter D is not an example of enculturation.

I would like to say D. because the definition of enculturation is the gradual acquisition of the characteristics and norms of a culture or group by a person, another culture, etc.

Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

When I was on my way home I tried to cross a busy road while standing by the road I met an old man, and I can clearly see that he might have problems crossing this busy road. So I decided to talk to the old man and offer my help, and at the same time assure him that he will be safe if he walks through with me he simply responded not to worry about him as he has crossed this road many times before, while slightly disappointed I realized that it’s better that he knows how to cross the road by himself in case people wouldn’t have been as courteous as I was.
