Which text from the short story “Ambush” by Tim O’Brien exemplifies the theme of soldiers’ reticence, or inability, to discuss t

heir experiences at war? Later, I would remember, Kiowa tried to tell me that the man would've died anyway. He told me it was a good kill that I was a soldier and this was a war, that I should shape up and stop staring and ask myself what the dead man would've done if things were reversed. When she was nine, my daughter Kathleen asked if I had ever killed anyone. She knew about the war; she knew I'd been a soldier. "You keep writing war stories," she said, "so I guess you must've killed somebody." It was a difficult moment, but I did what seemed right, which was to say, "Of course not," and then to take her onto my lap and hold her for a while. I had come to a crouch. It was entirely automatic. I did not hate the young man; I did not see him as the enemy; I did not ponder issues of morality or politics or military duty. But here I want to pretend that she's a grown-up. I want to tell her exactly what happened, or what I remember happening, and then I want to say to her that as a little girl she was absolutely right.

When he said “of course not” then took the girl on to his lap and hugged her.  It was his way of avoiding the discussion to which he still feels uncomfortable about.  This is because he is still haunted by his experience in war and there are many questions that are still in his mind.

Rama09 [41]

Answer:

I feel that these events have influenced me or influenced me, but I know that this will change my worldview and influence me forever. It is one of the things that happened when I went to Portugal, my mother's hometown. From this short trip in 2007, I learned about the importance of my family. The most important thing is the family in the distance. It provides me with a completely different world view and family real identity and scope. Even if you cross the culture and the continent.

There are a few good and bad things when thinking about my life but there are some learning experiences that will help me to be better. People 's life events include the birth and death of my first daughter. First, the event is the happy event in my life, the birth of my first daughter. - Please explain your past events and how it shapes you as a person. I think that I am a victim. The book was closed. The paper was signed. This is official. In the next grade, I will enter fifth grade again. I know that I am talented and I can do more, but my intelligence was meaningless after moving from Oklahoma City to Tulsa in the 4th grade. Suburban school luxury like computer, advanced mathematics, special way to learn English is full of my brains

A few years ago, my team planned a two day event called Instigator Experience. In the nine months before the event began my life changed dramatically. I found a mentor who played an important role in helping me to change my business and published my own expense beyond my expectations. After my event my life worsened. The main difference before and after the event is clarity. Before the event began I knew exactly what to do everyday:

Recent events have changed my life. The incident was a bombing of the World Trade Center. I clearly remember what happened when I learned about everyday events. I lived in a town of Richmond with two friends, but both started to go to school and stayed to explore the town. So, when I was walking in the town, I did shopping for the window; when dropping in at the store occasionally I came from Dixon; it is a local electric shop. When I stopped, I realized that the World Trade Center was burning. The first thing in my head is that this is a good movie with bad special effects. Anyway, I was attracted to television and wanted to know more about this "movie". As I approached, I noticed this was the truth, and the World Trade Center actually fired for terrorist attacks. I did not expect things like New York to happen in New York; of course it is American.

Read the rough draft of a student’s conclusion to an argumentative editorial. (1) Year-round schooling would help student achiev
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The passage tells schooling throughout the year will help students meet their goals. There should not be so much details in nine months. In addition, the elimination of long breaks, especially summer breaks, will reduce "learning losses" dramatically, and the additional time spent at the beginning of each academic year for the re-learning of previously learned content.

While many still argue that there is no proof of school year round and its association with higher education, these people must open their eyes to see that the performance of the students in these schools is consistently higher than that of the students who attend schools with conventional 9 months calendars. It is time we replace our obsolete and unreliable school calendars for some time now.

The author of Nickel and Dimed, Barbara Ehrenreich, found that she could not survive on $7.00 per hour—not if she wanted to live
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

$7.50 per hour for 40 hours a week, times 4 weeks gives us a monthly salary of $1,200 per month.

Explanation:

The chosen state is Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin, the average monthly rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is $680.

We can expect to spend $250 in groceries per month, by being very savvy.

The utility bill for the month can be $200, in winter it can be higher because of heating bill.

So with these three items we already have a total monthly expense of $1,130, leaving only $70 left, which could be used for gas, in case we own the car, because there would be no money for both gas and car payments.

We can conclude then that this 1,200 monthly salary is hardly a living wage.
