If the triangle is a right triangle, then

       (3x)² + x² = (10)² .

         9x² + x² = 100

             10x²  = 100

                 x²  =  10

                 x  =  √10  =  approx. 3.1622...

If ' x ' is anything less than √10 , then the short sides are too short
to make a right angle at the top, and the angle where they meet
is obtuse.

' x ' has to be greater than 2.5 ... otherwise the two short sides
can't stretch far enough to reach both ends of the long side (10) .

So, if    2.5  <  x  <  √10 , then there is a triangle, and it's obtuse.

Given; D is the Midpoint of CE / Prove DE =1/2CE
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Check explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to make a prove;

Mathematically , since D is the midpoint of CE

Then;

CE = CD + DE

Also, since D splits the line segment into two equal parts as the midpoint, then CD must be equal to DE

I.e CD = DE

Hence, we can express CE as follows;

CE = DE + DE

CE = 2 DE

Divide both sides by 2

CE/2 = DE

Hence; DE = 1/2 CE

you roll two dice what is the probability that the sum of the dice is less than 5 and one dice shows a 2? ...?
astraxan [27]
Lets say the 1st die rolled a 2 - there would be 2 combinations for which the sum of dice being < 5 : 2,1 2,2 Now say the 2nd die rolled a 2 - there would be 2 combinations for which the sum of dice being < 5 : 1,2 2,2 Now we want to count all cases where either dice showed a 2 and sum of the dice was < 5. However note above that the roll (2,2) is counted twice. So there are three unique dice roll combinations which answer the criteria of at least one die showing 2, and sum of dice < 5: 1,2 2,1 2,2 The total number of unique outcomes for two dice is 6*6=36 . So, the probability you are looking for is 3/36 = 1/12
