When the perception of norms conveys a sense of conformity and positivity, it influences healthy behavior; however, when this perception experiences a sense of revolt and injustice, it influences unhealthy behavior.

Standards reflect what is socially desirable and acceptable. However, often what is socially desirable and acceptable does not fit our convictions and we feel trapped and wronged. Perception of norms define behavior modules, thanks to norms behaviors are standardized, when this gives people a positive feeling of comfort and happiness, healthy behavior is influential. However, when norms generate a sense of injustice, anguish and repression, unhealthy behavior is influenced.

An example of this can be seen when the government imposes that homosexual marriage should not be performed and it causes a riot in the population, which takes to the streets and causes confusion.
