You have a column made of nickel-agarose matrix. your protein must have ________ to use this column for affinity chromatography.
belka [17]
<span>Negatively charged R-groups in the primary structure. This is because nickel acts as a cation, therefore you would be attracting anions, in this case it would be on the proteins that would be binding to the column. Once they bind to the matrix a was buffer of high salts can elute the proteins.</span>

In most animals, the ______ state of the life cycle is much larger than the ______ state.
Alexxx [7]

In most animals, the diploid state of the life cycle is much larger than the haploid state.

<h3>What is life cycle?</h3>

The life cycle of animals is the oscillation of their lives between the haploid (n) or sexual phase and the diploid (2n) or vegetative phase.

The haploid or sexual phase of animals has to do with their gametes. The male animals produce male gametes while the female animals produce female gametes.

During fertilization, the haploid male gamete (n) fuses with the haploid female gamete (n) to form a diploid (2n) zygote. The zygote is what divides mitotically to form the baby and continues to divide to form the adult animal.

For example, in humans, the female gamete is the egg while the male gamete is the sperm. The diploid version of humans is what we see every day.

Thus, when you consider it, you will see that the haploid life cycle of most animals is much bigger than their diploid life cycle.

An _______________ is composed of two or more tissues types, whereas ____________ are microscopic structures in a cell.
Lorico [155]

Answer:

The correct answer is- Organ, organelles

Explanation:

Cells comes together and make tissue and different tissue organized to form an organ. So organs are made up of a group of two or more tissue type which perform specific function in an organism. For example, the heart pumps the blood, kidney which filters the blood.

Organelle are microscopic structures in the cell for example nucleus, Golgi, endoplasmic reticulum. Each organelle performs a specific function like organs. Eukaryotes have membrane-bound organelles and prokaryotes lack membrane-bound organelles. Therefore the correct answer is organs and organelle.

The populations living on a rough, steep mountain would have a higher rate of speciation than this living in a large, open grass
exis [7]

The correct answer is option C, that is, have a wider range of environments.

It has been known that geographic isolation is a general way for the initiation of the process of speciation, like the rise of mountains, rivers changing course, migration of organisms, continental drift, due to this what was once a steady population gets differentiated into two or more kinds of smaller populations.

A mountain range, due to distinctions in temperature and precipitation as a result of different altitudes, can lead to a higher rate of speciation. Due to these differences, a single mountain range can exhibit an enormous array of biodiversity and climate zones.
