The ascendancy of the American Federation of Labor during the 1890's reflected the poor working conditions in American society.
The formation of large labor unions, like the aforementioned American Federation of Labor, was a result of unfair treatment of their workers. During this industrial era, Americans worked anywhere between 80-100 hours a week and often worked 6 days a week. These workers also were paid very little in comparsion to what their bosses/the owners of the company were making.
Along with this, workers faced harsh and unsafe working conditions in industries like the mining industry. This resulted in workers coming together to fight for better working conditions, better pay, and less hours.
He delitberately started wars with neighbouring European countries and rallied the German people using nationalism against them and won. This is how Prussia/Germany grew large in military power and land
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union. NATO was the first peacetime military alliance the United States entered into outside of the Western Hemisphere.
