Mark 2 points on the coordinate grid and draw a line through them

One point would be when x = 0 and y = 1/2(0) + 5 = 5.

and another point is ( 10, 10)

What equation is graphed in this equation?

Y-2=-3/2(x-2)
first of all, the slope of the line is -3/2, and there's only one equation that has that as a choice for the slope. Then you can take the x and y coordinates given in that equation you want to check and see if the line goes through that point. from the equation, (point-slope form y-y=m(x-x)) I know that the line should pass through point (2, -2), and looking at the graph, that is correct.

Please help me with this question
saul85 [17]
Okay well first let's find out the answer for the equation as given here;

4p^2 = 12p - 5

4p^2 - 12p + 5 = 0

4p^2 - 2p - 10p + 5 = 0

2p(2p - 1) - 5(2p - 1) = 0

(2p - 5)(2p - 1) = 0

p = 5/2, 1/2

now the question is asking what type of numbers are the solutions.

your answer is D) 2 rational solutions.

hope this helped (:

An algebra question i really need help with this like ASAP
AVprozaik [17]

"the candle is 17 inches tall after 3 hours" then it says " after 5 hours it is 15 inches tall"

-assuming that they mean that after 2 additional hours (from 3-5), the candle is now 2 inches shorter than before, a unit of decreasing value can be determined in this case the candle is "shortening" at a rate of 1 inch/per hour. If we write this in equation form it looks like this I think:  h = h-t  ...... right ? so then: h = 20 - 8 , h = 12 inches after 8 hours.

20 inches is the original height of the candle before any was burnt that I calculated using the same equation - What do you think of my answer.
