Answer with explanation:

Distributive property of multiplication with respect to Addition and multiplication with respect to subtraction

1. a × (b +c)= a × b + a × c

2.  a × (b - c)= a × b - a × c

We have to solve the equality

→ -0.2×(x-4)= -1.7

Using Distributive property of multiplication with respect to Subtraction

⇒-0.2 x +(-0.2)×(-4)= -1.7

⇒-0.2 x +0.8= -1.7

⇒ -0.2 x+0.8-0.8= -1.7 -0.8

⇒ -0.2 x= -2.5

Cancelling negative sign from both sides, gives

0.2 x= 2.5

x=\frac{2.5}{0.2}\\\\x=12.5

Correct Method, to solve the equation using the distributive property.

Write 7.264 51 correct to 3 decimal places
pav-90 [236]

ANSWER

7.26451 correct  to 3 decimal places is 7.265

EXPLANATION

We start counting from the first number after the decimal point.

So starting from 2, we count 3 decimal places to the right and land on 4.

Next, we check to see if the number after 4, is greater or equal 5, then we round up, else we round down.

Since that number is 5, it is greater than or equal to 5.

Therefore we round up to obtain 7.265

Find an equation for the tangent to the curve at P and the horizontal tangent to the curve at Q. y = 5 + cot x - 2 csc x 0 1 2 3
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer with explanation:

The given function in x and y is,

  y= 5 +cot x-2 Cosec x

To find the equation of tangent, we will differentiate the function with respect to x

y'= -\csc^2 x+2 \csc x\times \cot x

Slope of tangent at (π/2,3)

 y'_{(\frac{\pi}{2},3)}= -\csc^2\frac{\pi}{2} +2 \csc \frac{\pi}{2}\times \cot \frac{\pi}{2}\\\\=-1+2\times 1 \times 0\\\\= -1

Equation of tangent passing through (π/2,3) can be obtained by

\rightarrow \frac{y-y_{1}}{x-x_{1}}=m(\text{Slope})\\\\ \rightarrow \frac{y-3}{x-\frac{\pi}{2}}=-1\\\\\rightarrow 3-y=x-\frac{\pi}{2}\\\\\rightarrow x+y-3-\frac{\pi}{2}=0

⇒There will be no Horizontal tangent from the point (π/2,3).

Need please help with the answer
Sladkaya [172]

Step-by-step explanation:

the volume of a rotating solid out of an xy area in a certain interval is pi times the integral of that area squared (because we are emulating adding the volumes of cylinder slices) in that interval along the given axis.

if that area is defined as the difference between 2 curves, then that difference (of the squares) has to be integrated.

the "outer" curve is y = x² + 3 = R, because it has always the larger y values compared to y = 2x + 1 = r.

the volume of an outer cylinder slice is

pi × R² × dx

and of an internal cylinder slice is

pi × r² × dx

therefore, the volume of the difference "washer" cylinder is

pi×R²×dx - pi×r²×dx = pi×(R² - r²)×dx

and now integrating the infinitely thin washers across the interval [0, 2].

R² = (x²+3)² = x⁴ +6x² + 9

r² = (2x+1)² = 4x² + 4x + 1

R² - r² = x⁴ + 2x² - 4x + 8

the integral of (R² - r²)dx :

1/5 x⁵ + 2/3 x³ - 4/2 x² + 8x = 1/5 x⁵ + 2/3 x³ - 2x² + 8x

in the interval of [0, 2] that gives us

1/5 2⁵ + 2/3 2³ - 2×2² + 8×2 - 0 = 32/5 + 16/3 - 8 + 16 =

= 32/5 + 16/3 + 8 = 96/15 + 80/15 + 120/15 = 296/15

and as final step multiplying this by pi :

296pi/15 = 61.99409503... units³ ≈ 62 units³
