If you have a graph there's a cross and the line going up and down is the y-axis. The line going left to right is the x axis. when someone gives you a line it'll look like this -----> (2,4) this means you need to mark 2 on the x axis, and 4 on the y axis. A line is always (x,y) so you'd plot 2 on the x axis and 4 on the y axis and draw a line.

for the y-intercept one, a y intercept is a number where a line goes thru the y axis, therefore the -2 would be on the y axis and it's where u start, so put a point on -2. Then the slope is -2 so put that like this -2/1 that means go down 2 times and go to the right 1 time, so you'd do that

it's kinda hard for me to explain but i hope this helped!

The population of a small town in Alabama is 382 people. If the growth rate is 0.7%, what will its population be in 30 years?
goldenfox [79]
Formula for growth:

y = initial • (percent growth + 1)^time/frequency of growth

So, since initial population is 382

Percent growth is 0.007

The time is 30 years

And it goes it by .07% every 1 year,

y = 382 • (1.007)^30/1

y= 470.9203732 people

Since we can’t have 0.9 of a person, the population after 30 years will be 470 people.

Find f^-1(x) for f(x) = 1/x^3
kow [346]

Answer: f^{-1}(x) = \frac{\sqrt[3]{x^{2}}}{x}

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

y = \frac{1}{x^{3}}

Inverse is when you swap the x's and y's and then solve for "y":

x = \frac{1}{y^{3}}

y^{3} = \frac{1}{x}

y = \frac{1}{\sqrt[3]{x}}

y = \frac{1}{\sqrt[3]{x}}*(\frac{\sqrt[3]{x}}{\sqrt[3]{x}})^{2}

y = \frac{\sqrt[3]{x^{2}}}{x}
