What is 90 decreased by 40%?
vaieri [72.5K]
Because it's decreasing, you use the formula (1-x/100)y with x the percentage decreased which is here 40, and y the number decreased which is here 90
So we get
(1-40/100) * 90
(100/100 - 40/100) * 90
60/100 * 90
5400/100
54
So 90 decreased by 40% is 54
Hope this Helps :)

A triangle has an area of 9m2 and a base of 6m. how do I find the height of this triangle?
KonstantinChe [14]
You know the triangle has a base of 6 meters, and that the formula to find the area of a triangle is 1/2bh or one-half of the base times the height. So, you would plug in 9 meters squared=one half of six times h, or 9m^2=1/2(6)*(h). In simplifying this, you would get 3h=9m^2. Divide both sides by three and get h=3. Hope this helps, and if you need any further explanations, please let me know!
