3) It was a popular idea, especially with the church, the teachings of which were rarely combatted. With the people of the church in the majority and arguing against heliocentrism, convincing them of the opposite of their beliefs would be difficult.
4) Heresy is essentially a belief that contradicts the teachings of orthodox religions. With the church teaching and believing in geocentrism, saying that the exact opposite is true would definitely be viewed as heresy.
5) Christianity was the most "common" religion, with many faithful followers who wouldn't question too much; If the church said that the sun revolves around the Earth, to them, it was true.
