We have been given a triangular prism. We are asked to find the volume of a prism that is 3 times as large.

The sides of base of triangular prism and height of new prism would be 3 times the sides and height of original prism.

\text{Base length}=3\times 3=9

\text{Height}=3\times 5=15

We can see that base of prism is a right triangle, so base length will be 9 and height of triangle will be 9 as well.

\text{Area of base}=\frac{1}{2}\times 9\times 9

\text{Area of base}=\frac{1}{2}\times 81

\text{Area of base}=40.5

Volume of prism would be base area times height of prism.

V=bh

V=40.5\times 15

V=607.5

Therefore, the volume of the prism that is 3 times as large as given prism would be 607.5 and option D is the correct choice.

Cavalieri’s principle states that if two solids of equal height have equal cross-sectional areas at every level parallel to the
kozerog [31]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

one cone within the cylinder.

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

First of all we have to start with half of a sphere (also known as a hemisphere), whose radius is r, and calculate its volume. Then we can double our answer at the end to find the volume of the complete sphere. But first to apply the Cavalieri's Principle, we start with a cone with the same radius r and suppose the height is also r, so the volume of this cone is:

V_{cone}=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^{3}

Next, let's look at a cylinder and suppose this cylinder also has a radius r and height r, so the volume of this cylinder is:

V_{cylinder}=\pi r^{3}

Next, we place the the cone inside the cylinder and the volume that's inside the cylinder, but outside the cone is:

V_{cylinder}-V_{cone}=\pi r^{3}-\frac{1}{3}\pi r^{3}=\frac{2}{3}\pi r^{3}

And this is the volume of a hemisphere. Finally, if we double this value we get the volume of a complete sphere, which is:

V_{sphere}=\frac{4}{3}\pi r^{3}

tekilochka [14]

Answer:

  $557.51

Step-by-step explanation:

A financial calculator tells you the payments are ...

  on $80,000 at 4.75%: $417.32

  on $20,000 at 7.525%: $140.19

Then the total monthly payment is ...

  $417.32 +140.19 = $557.51

_____

You can use the amortization formula to find the payment (A) on principal P at interest rate r for t years to be ...

  A = P(r/12)/(1 -(1+r/12)^(-12t))

I find it takes fewer keystrokes to enter the numbers into a financial calculator. Both give the same result.
