Step-by-step explanation:

AC = AB + BC

25x - 19 = 9x + 7 + 5x + 7

25x - 19 = 14x + 14

25x - 14x = 14 + 19

11x = 33

x = 33/11

x = 3

AB = 9x + 7

= 9(3) + 7

= 27 + 7

= 34

What is the general process for solving an equation with one variable?
elena55 [62]
Greetings!

"<span>What is the general process for solving an equation with one variable?"...

Typically when solving an equation with one variable, your objective is to isolate the variable on one side of the equation. This can be done adding/subtracting number to cancel them out on one side. You can also multiply/divide coefficients in order to isolate a variable.

Example:
</span>2x+4=64
<span>Add -4 to both sides to isolate the variable.
</span>(2x+4)+(-4)=(64)+(-4)<span>
Simplify.
</span>2x=60
Divide both sides by 2 to isolate the variable on one side.
(2x)/2=(60)/2
x=30

Hope this helps.

The points (–5, 6) and (5, 6) are vertices of a hexagon. The line segment joining the two points forms one of the sides of the h
xxTIMURxx [149]

The information about the points being vertices that make up a line to represent the side of a hexagon is irrelevant, as we are only looking for the distance of a line based on their x and y coordinates.

Look at the point's x and y coordinates:

First point:

x = -5, y = 6

Second point:

x = 5, y = 6

You'll notice that the y-coordinate for both points is the same (6 = 6). This means that the segment created by the points will be horizontal, since there is only movement on the x-axis if you trace the segment from point to point.

To find the distance between the two points, we'll only need to subtract the first point's x-coordinate from the second:

5 - (-5) = 5 + 5 = 10

The answer will be the following statement:

Since the y-coordinates are the same, the segment is horizontal, and the distance between the points is 10 units.
