Answer:

Appreciation would always be present regardless of the fact that Prospero’s treatment of Caliban changed.  Because of Prospero’s initial kindness toward Caliban, an appreciation was there.  Again, even if the treatment changed, that appreciation of initial kindness would never be changed to resentment.  Further, even if it were possible for Caliban to be more appreciative, what would really have had to change were the actions, not the feelings (which is what appreciation is—a feeling).  Perhaps if Caliban had done more to show his appreciation, Prospero’s treatment of Caliban would not have changed to harshness.

Which sentence best describes teh character of dante as he is portrayed in the ifnerno?
monitta

Dante's character seems to be basically good, but his worldly innocence makes him surprised by the sights of Hell.

Since his first meeting with Virgil, Dante has continued to be astounded by the paranormal events that shape the story's rules. Every spirit Dante encountered as he travelled through the circles of Hell continued to astound and terrify him. The character of Dante is meant to represent every atheist who wants to challenge their own religion with reason but is disproved at the first sign of anything illogical.
